大学院時代にヒトやサルのエイズウイルス研究に携わって以来、ウイルスの巧妙さ、精緻さに魅せられて今に至っています。当研究室では霊長類研究所という地の利を生かしたユニークな、私たちにしか出来ないようなウイルス研究を推進し社会への還元、貢献を目指したいと思います。また、こうした研究分野の将来を担う若手研究者の育成も重要なテーマです。

My name is Poonam Grover. But officially, I use only my first name "Poonam". I am from India. I have completed my masters in Medical Biotechnology from Indian Institute of Technology, Hyderabad India. I have joined Akari lab as a research student and will enroll in Phd program.
Kyoto is a nice and beautiful city. People in Japan are very helpful and polite. I hope to complete my Phd in Akari lab and become a skilled research scientist.

I come from Kenya and have a BSc. in Medical Microbiology from the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT). I have joined Akari lab as a research student and hope to proceed into Masters and eventually earn a PhD.
Everyone has been kind and very helpful to me throughout the transition from my country into Japan. I am having a wonderful time here in Kyoto while studying retroviruses using nonhuman primate models. Akari lab is well equipped with the most recent scientific technological equipment and my hope is to graduate as a well-trained research scientist.
